• Absolutely no food or drinks in A109/110
• Keep your desks clean and clutter free
• To learn with technology we have to take care of
  our equipment
• No games on the computers, no downloads, no e-mail

• When first entering the science room, do not
  touch any equipment, chemicals or other materials
  until you are instructed to do so.
• NEVER enter the room if unsupervised.
• Stay focused pay attention to all written and
  verbal instructions.
• Ask questions before proceeding if you are
  unsure.

• Hands-on experiences are essential to learning in
  science class, but safety must be the first
  concern!
• All ways follow Lab rules! They are for your
  safety.

Electricity can be deadly!

• Your desks have electrical outlets-120V. They all
  work!
• Do not mess with them.
• No water, objects etc.
• Report broken or loose outlets.

Heat, Electricity and fire hazard

• Misbehavior CANNOT and WILL NOT be tolerated!
• Immediately notify your teacher of any unsafe
  conditions you observe.
• Equipment can break. Dont hide it. Report broken
  equipment.

• Report all accidents immediately, no matter how
  small.
• This includes broken glass, cuts and scrapes,
  chemical spills and fire.
• Learn the proper techniques for handling these
  accidents.
• Remain calm!

• Eyewash Station
• Safety Shower
• Fire Safety Blanket
• Fire Extinguisher
• First Aid Kit
• Office/Nurse Call Button

• Wear safety goggles and, when needed, gloves
  while engaging in lab activities.
• Proper dress for lab includes
• Tying back long hair
• Removing dangling jewelry
• Rolling up long sleeves
• Securing baggy clothing
• Closed shoes

• Keep hands away from eyes, mouth and body while
  using chemicals.
• NEVER touch, taste or smell any chemicals
  unless specified to do so.

your book before conducting lab activities

• Use the posted procedure and evacuation route for
  exiting the classroom and building if necessary.
• Clean and organize your table, labware and
  equipment at the end of the lab.
• At the end of each lesson leave your area clean
  behind.

• You and your parents must agree to and sign the
  safety rules in order to participate in lab
  activities.
• Failure to comply with safety guidelines may
  result in your removal from the class and loss of
  credit for the work that is done in your absence.
