I. Thou shall not use spaces
  • Put no more than two spaces together.
  • Use the ltTABgt key to line things up.
  • Better yet, put information in tables

II. Thou shall not press ltENTERgt at the end of
each line
  • Let the software wrap the lines.
  • Press ltENTERgt only when you want to start a new
    paragraph.

III. Thou shall not use the ltENTERgt key to start
a new page
  • Insert a Page Break command using the software.
  • The Page Break command insures that changes to
    previous pages do not affect the new page.

IV. Thou shall not manually number the pages
  • Word processing software has an automatic page
    numbering command.
  • Learn how to place the page numbering code into
    your document.

V. Thou shall not try to print unless you have
saved the document first
  • Save the document before sending it to the
    printer.
  • Follow this rule when you have long, complicated
    text with lots of graphics.

VI. Thou shall not try to print unless the
printer is turned on
  • Ignoring this rule, and Commandment VI. can
    result in a system crash, and loss of your
    document.
  • If you are connected to several printers, be sure
    that you are sending the document to the correct
    printer.

it
  • Dont trust the Auto Save feature to have
    recorded the latest changes.
  • It is O.K. to save multiple versions of your
    work, and erase them later.

IX. Thou shall not turn off (or reset) the
computer until you exit the application
  • Always exit properly.
  • Use the ltALTgtltF4gt combination, then ltENTERgt to
    exit Windows, quickly.

X. Thou shall not forget to Back up your work
  • Keep copies of all important, hard to format work
  • Make templates of forms and other re-useable
    documents
  • Write Protect your forms and re-usable documents
