  • 20 local clubs, of two types affiliated with
    schools or functioning as independent youth
    centers

Accreditation Schedule
  • Duration of the process 1 academic year
  • September distribution of info-packages and
    accreditation deadlines to all local clubs
  • Mid-November deadline for applying for
    accreditation process
  • January - June the actual accreditation taking
    place

How do we see the AP?
  • As a chance to improve the quality of our NGO
  • Therefore, our criteria QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
  • How are we going to strongly encourage clubs to
    apply for AP? IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN
    NATIONAL CAMP AND TOURNAMENTS, a club HAS to be
    ACCREDITED.

Who is in our Accreditation Committee?
  • A nominated and elected committee consisting of
    supervisors/trainers/mentors and internationally
    experienced members of our NGO debate community

Club Accreditation Step 1
  • Delivering the following documentation as part of
    application process for Accred.
  • Overview of activities past planned
  • List of members minimum 15 required
  • Description of the club, space, addresses,
    contact info, etc.
  • List of trainers, coaches, teachers, judges
    affiliated with the club
  • Participation at the national tournament/camp
  • Proof of local fundraising efforts
  • 1 public event per year
  • Audition of international events (optional)

  • Comparison of documents received with IDEA
    standards
  • On site visit
  • Step 3 decision on accreditation

Accreditation process for coaches / trainers /

  • Camp experience tournament experience
  • Organization of tournament
  • Leadership of a club
  • Audition for international event (optional)
  • CV and/or portfolio of work

  • On site visit attend club meetings
  • Talking to students
  • DISTRIBUTING A QUESTIONNAIRE / SURVEY assessing
    this coach/judge/trainer/teacher!!!

Step 3 and 4
  • AT THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT/CAMP, pay special
    attention to persons that applied for
    accreditation process and
  • Shadow their judging
  • Follow their workshops
  • Assess them in action
  • Step 4 Decision about accreditation!

Debate as a teaching method
  • Teachers undergo a seminar / training of several
    days after which they receive a certificate.
