• Watching my second (normally hearing) two year
  old son learn to speak, I have living proof every
  day that the naturalness in communication with a
  hearing child is purely the result of his
  hearing, not of myself being natural. They just
  trigger the responses in the mother, and I find
  myself triggered thus all day long
