NOAH - Nurturing Orphans of Aids for Humanity.
NOAH centres around an Ark from which committee
members and volunteers operate. The children
receive food, after school care, counselling and
guidance and they provide training and work
opportunities for adults in the participating
communities. The Ark concept is that of a
community that will not allow a child to suffer
because of orphanhood.   An Ark consists of 3
main components   Volunteered and elected
community leaders   Trained volunteers   A
resource centre

NOAH CONTINUED
AEL currently supports the Ark located in Ivory
Park, just outside Tembisa. Support to the Ark
takes the form of the donation of epap ( a
nutritionally enriched porridge) and financial
contribution towards groceries. The extent of the
assistance is in the region of R160 000 per
annum. In addition AEL has allocated funds
towards the erection of a new Ark on a stand
donated by the Metropolitan Council. It is
envisaged that plans will be drawn and a base
steel structure erected. In order for this
project to be successful substantial assistance
from other donors will be required.
