  • The ARPA (Advanced Research Projects Agency), a
    branch of the U.S. Defense Department developed
    the first Internet in 1968-1969.
  • Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web in
    1989

    people listened in, TV, 13 years before 50
    million people had one, or PCs, 16 years before
    50 million people used one. The Internet did it
    in four years
