Hal Rogers Our Founder
  • Born January 3, 1899
  • Wounded in World War I
  • Tried to join Rotary, but rejected, so formed
    Kinsmen instead
  • Chaired Milk for Britain campaign in World War
    II
  • O.B.E. 1948, O.C. 1980
  • Died September 15, 1994

Kin Canada A Brief History
  • First Kinsmen Club formed in Hamilton, Ontario in
    1920 (at Namking Chinese Restaurant!)
  • District structure initiated in 1930s
  • Major growth from late 1940s to mid 1970s
  • Partnership with Cystic Fibrosis in 1964
  • Raises more service dollars per capita than any
    other service group in the world

  • Kinsmen started as an all-male service
    organization
  • Kinsmen wives began to organize in 1930s
  • Kinsmen Ladies Club of Hamilton 1932
  • Very active in service projects during World War
    II

  • 1983 Kinettes voted on resolutions for first
    time
  • 1988 Kinettes full partners in association
  • 1990 First National Kinette President
  • 1995 First Kin Club
  • 1998 Kin Song adopted
  • 2003 Official name change to Kin Canada
