NSS curriculum - French

• The new NSS French syllabus is based on the
  Cambridge AS Level exam and comprises of the
  following components
• Component 1 Speaking (20mins)
• 30 of final mark
• Component 2 Reading and Writing (1h45m)
• 50 of final mark
• Component 3 Essay (1h30m 250-400 words)
• 20 of final mark

NSS curriculum Objectives - French

• Being able to understand and respond to texts in
  French, drawn from a variety of sources such as
  magazines, newspapers, reports, books
• Being able to express oneself in French
  accurately in spoken and written forms.
• Select information and present it in an organized
  and logical manner.

Selection Criteria

• Students must develop the habit of reading,
  understanding and analyzing all kinds of
  documents in French (not only books).
• Students need to express themselves in French not
  only in class but among themselves to develop the
  fluidity thats required at this level.
• Students need to know more about the culture and
  customs of French speaking countries other than
  France (e.g. Canada, Tunisia,)
• Students need to be able to talk about a variety
  of topics in relevance to the topics set for the
  Final exam.

compulsory part are broader and deeper than those
in the current CE mathematics, but most of the
contents are similar.
