What is PEOPLESKILLS?

• a totally web-based careers fair delivered via
  the Internet a website, jobs board and live
  chatrooms.
• an opportunity to showcase your skills to a range
  of organisations and find out more about what
  they can offer you, from the comfort of your PC.
• aimed at students and graduates with an interest
  in health, social care, social work.

Why have a virtual fair?

• accessible anywhere
• open for 3 weeks not just one day
• easy to take part in - no advanced computer
  skills necessary
• attracts a wider range of employers from further
  afield
• no queueing and you can see answers to other
  peoples questions

What can I do?

• You will be able to
• Find out more about different employers through
  links from the main page of the site
• View vacancies and apply for jobs
• Take part in 1-1 and group chat sessions with
  recruiters
• Email recruiters directly with your enquiries
• Post your CV online for employers to view
• Receive careers advice by email

Who is attending?

• So far a range of NHS Trusts, plus
  representatives from Social Services and the
  voluntary sector.
• View the up to date list of those attending on
  the careers section of the University website.

How do I register?

• Its easy!
• Complete the registration form at
  www.prospects.ac.uk/PEOPLESKILLS
• Once registered receive regular emails with
  updates of the recruiters who are attending
• As soon as the virtual fair opens on 1st June you
  can enter and begin "meeting" graduate recruiters

  EOPLESKILLS
• Post your CV as employers will already be able to
  view it
• Make a list of questions you want to ask

• 1st 19th June
• Check out employer details
• Check for vacancies
• Log in to any chats that interest you
• After 19th June
• You can still view employer details and full chat
  transcripts for up to six months after the event

What are chat events and what if I can't attend ?

• There will a range of live chat events over the
  three weeks of the fair where you can talk live
  online to graduate recruiters and other
  consultants.
• Chats are generally one hour long and you can log
  in to just watch if you prefer.
• A full transcript of the chat will be available
  shortly after it has finished.

Can I upload more than one CV?

• Yes, you can upload as many CVs and covering
  letters as you want.
• It might be that you are applying to several
  different graduate recruiters during the virtual
  jobs fair and you need to tailor your CV to
  specific recruiters and vacancies.

Can I arrange a private online chat with an
employer?

• Although you can't contact a registered graduate
  recruiter for a private online chat, they can
  contact you.
• Once you have uploaded your CV employers can
  view it and contact you if they are interested.
  They can arrange a private 1 - 1 online chat with
  you during PEOPLESKILLS.
