Title: The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are performed

1
The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he
commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are
performed and unto this day they drink none, for
they obey their father's commandment... (Jer.
3514, cp. 2 Kgs. 1015,23)
So these nations feared Jehovah, and served
their graven images their children likewise, and
their children's children, as did their fathers,
so do they unto this day. (2 Kgs. 1741)

Police Arrest 8-Year-Old After Alleged Outburst
in Williamsburg (VA) Elementary School, Mar. 4,
2005 (AP) - James City County Police arrested
an eight-year-old boy who allegedly had a violent
outburst in school. Authorities say he
head-butted his teacher and kicked an assistant
principal when he was told he couldn't go outside
to play with other students. The four-foot
pupil was led away from Williamsburg's Rawls Byrd
Elementary School in handcuffs Tuesday and
charged with disorderly conduct and assault and
battery.
12
Major Stan Stout says the student began tossing
chairs and turning over desks after a teacher -
and later the assistant principal - tried to stop
him from joining his classmates.

I'd rather see a sermon, than hear one any
day I'd rather one should walk with me, than
merely show the way. The eye's a better pupil,
and more willing than the ear Fine counsel is
confusing, but examples always clear. (Edgar A.
Guest, Sermons We See, Masterpieces of
Religious Verse, p. 361)

V. THE RESULT WHEN HE IS OLD HE WILL NOT DEPART
FROM IT, Prov. 1822

"Train up a child in the way he should go, And
when he is old he will not depart from it."
(Prov. 226) I took a piece of earthen clay
And idly fashioned it one day And as my fingers
pressed it still It molded and yielded to my
will. I came again when day was past, The bit
of clay was hard at last The form I gave it
still it bore But I could change that form no
more.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, And
when he is old he will not depart from it."
(Prov. 226) I took a piece of living clay And
gently formed it day by day, And molded with my
power and art A young child's soft and yielding
heart. I came again when years were gone, It
was a man I looked upon He still that early
impress wore And I could change him never
more. ---Author Unknown
