  chemical means.

• Elements are pure substances.
• Pure substances contain only one type of particle
  called ATOMS!
• Every atom of an element is exactly like every
  other atoms of that same element no matter
  where that element is found!

• Elements are identified by their properties.
• Each element has their own characteristic
  properties that DO NOT depend on the amount of
  element present.
• Physical and chemical are the two properties that
  identify characteristics.
• Elements can have some of the same properties.

• You can classify elements by their appearance and
  physical properties.
• Not all elements in a group are exactly alike,
  but they share enough to be classified together.
