2Good Morning
- Where does my child go?
- At Cherokee, we have line up spots on the
sidewalks outside of school. There are separate
entrances/ exits for K1, latchkey, 5th grade,
4th grade, 3rd grade, and 2nd grade. Numbers on
the sidewalk correspond to classroom numbers. - For safety reasonsplease do NOT drop your child
off before 815 a.m.
3What if my child rides a bus?
- ONLY buses are allowed in the bus loop.
- Kindergarten 1st grade are walked in a line by
safeties to class. All other students walk to
their line up spot, and enter the building. - The first day of school we tag K, 1st 2nd
grade students backpacks.
4What time do I need to get my child there?First
Bell is at 824 This is when teachers come out
and bring their students into the
building.Classes start promptly at 830. Any
child who enters after 830 MUST be accompanied
by a parent and signed into the office to receive
a tardy pass.Latchkey students are sent to
latchkey at 308Bus riders are dismissed at
318Car riders/ walkers are dismissed at 313

6Kindergarten Plus
- Children must attend full time. Students benefit
the most from a consistent schedule as many
activities are continued over several days. - Please see our office or our Childcare Center for
more information and a registration form.
- We offer FULL day childcare to Kindergarten
students. - This is an ACADEMICALLY orientated program not
play time

student issues such as anxiety, homesickness,
divorce or a death in the family.

23Time to go Home
- At dismissal, the teachers walk students to the
same doors they entered in the morning. - Kindergarten teachers look for a parent to pick
up the child. - Students are expected to stay on the sidewalks as
they walk to the front of the building. - If you are picking your child up, please
designate a pick-up spot to meet. - Please do NOT PARK on the drop- off curb that is
for very quick pick- ups and drop -offs only! - Students riding bikes or skating MUST wear
helmets.
24Time to go Home
- All bus students are walked to the doors closest
to the bus loop and dismissed there. - Kindergarten students are walked to their bus by
a safety. - Safeties help students get on and off the bus
safely.
25Childcare
- We offer outstanding before after-school
childcare (SACC) from 630 a.m. to 600 p.m. - We offer all day childcare for kindergarten
students (K). - We offer Preschool childcare for children ages 2
½ and potty trained. - Please see the childcare room for more
information.
