    (COPAN) Program Worksite Task Force has been in
    existence since 2003.

    agencies.
  • Early initiatives trainings, grants, worksite
    resource kit, better communication and resource

  • The HCSTF has the following major
    accomplishments
  • Developed of Guidelines for Adult Obesity
  • Developed a DVD for physicians on how to counsel
    overweight and obese patients.
  • Partnered in promoting a toll-free weight
    management telephone counseling service to
    underserved populations in Colorado. Over 400
    clients enrolled. Average weight loss was 6 of
    total body weight.

  • That HCSTF partnered with the Colorado Clinical
    Guidelines Collaborative to provide Rapid
    Improvement Activities (RIAs) in 10 healthcare
    practices in Colorado.
  • The focus of the RIAs was to help practices
    develop simple interventions that will make it
    easier to counsel overweight and obese patients.

  • The BFWG is distributing a Breastfeeding Policy
    Toolkit and providing technical assistance to all
    55 birthing centers in the state. The technical
    assistance will focus on implementing model
    breastfeeding-friendly hospital policies and
    practices that have been shown to increase
    initiation and duration rates.
