  • Purpose
  • Helping Trios is a structured protocol to guide
    discussion. Participants share information and
    then collaboratively construct suggestions to
    refine practice.
  • Participants will share information and then
brainstorm to help their colleague guide staffs
to next steps with the CWT.

8
Steps
  • Form groups of three.
  • Follow directions for each of the three rounds
    provided below.
  • Debrief the protocol.

9
Before you begin
B
C
A
  • As a team of three, determine the order of your
sharing process. Assign the person who will
share first the of A. Assign the person who
will share second the role of B. Assign the
person who will share third the role of C.
  • Take the corresponding role card as a reminder.

10
Overview
  • A,B, and C will share, listen, and provide
    feedback regarding their experiences and
    observations reflected with the homework.
  • Strategies and suggestions can be offered to
    guide implementation.
  • Teams reflect on and record ideas for whole group
    discussion.
  • Heres how

11
ROUND 1 -4 minutes
  • Thinking about the CWT process and the homework
    from
  • last time, A discusses his/her responses to the
    following questions
  • What background information would best help my
team understand where my site is right now with
regard to the CWT work (implementing 2 part
    leaning objectives, mandatory engagement, and
    differentiation)?
  • What successes or challenges were evident with
the peer walk through at my site?
  • What new perceptions did I gain from my CWT at my
    colleagues site?
  • What reflective question(s) did my colleague
leave with me that has helped guide my next steps
  • After listening to my CWT experiences at my site,
what I would most like help brainstorming is

12
2 minutes
  • B and C ask clarifying questions.
  • for example
  • What additional information might be help you
    understand the story?
  • What points were not clear when the
    information/reflection was presented?
  • A responds

13
4 minutes
  • B and C have a conversation in order to frame
    and interpret As story.
  • A silently listens and does not respond nor
    interrupt B or C.
  • A may take notes if he/she wishes.

14
4 minutes
  • A B and C dialogue or brainstorm
suggestions or ideas. The object is not to come
out with the one right answer but to generate
many possibilities for A to think about.

15
Round 2 3
  • The process repeats with B and C sharing
background, observations, and requests for ideas.

16
Debrief and Whole Group
