Title: The Riches

The Riches

Misunderstanding Grace
  • Grace is a concept that is difficult to grasp
because we live primarily under the philosophy of
    a tit-for-tat world.
  • We are consumed with the concept called Fairness
  • We find order in our lives through the concept
    called Justice

Misunderstanding Grace
  • The difficulty is that
  • Fairness is a two sided sword
  • and Justice is blind to human error.
  • So we demand Fairness only when its in our
    favour
  • And we confuse Justice with Cruelty

In a tit-for-tat world
But do we really understand Grace?
Fairness prompts the call for Retribution
Justice forms the basis for Vengeance.
Fairness
So Forgiveness is despised as an Excuse for
continued wrong and thus Unfair

Justice
and Grace is confused for Weakness in the face of
obvious sin and thus Unjust.

Misunderstanding Grace
But do we really understand Grace?
  • Grace is when the Perfectly Sinless
  • takes the place of the Absolutely Sinful
  • so that the Absolutely Sinful
  • can be perfectly sinless.

A tit-for-tat world sees injustice
and demands that the Offender bears the price of
that injustice so that the Offended may be
satisfied.

Grace in Contrast

Grace in Contrast
  • (Ephesians 28-9) For it is by grace you have
been saved, through faith--and this not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works,
so that no one can boast.

Do you know Him?
Grace in Contrast
Grace that is subjected to the rules of a
tit-of-tat world is not grace at all
WARNING
Grace that saves us from the power and the
penalty of Sin
comes from the hand of God alone.
True Grace
because Grace accomplishes what we cannot do for
ourselves
The Gift of Grace cannot be worked for
God calls it a Me Faith
A Fake Grace
A faith designed to fool us.
