How to Save Your Presentation in a Folder
  • Click File then Save As
  • Make sure the Save in.. line reads 3 ½ Floppy
    A
  • Click the Create New Folder button on the
    toolbar. Type the name of your folder and click
    OK
  • Make sure your folder is listed on the Save
    in.. line
  • Type the file name of your presentation and click
    save to save it in your folder.
  • You will save any graphics, sounds, movies, etc.
    in this folder with your presentation.

Save a Graphic from the WWW
  • Open your browser (Netscape).
  • Find the graphic you want from a free graphic
    site.
  • Right-click on the graphic. Choose Save as
  • If you want to save an automated graphic, it must
    be moving when you save it.
  • Save the graphic in the folder with your
    presentation.

Add a Graphic to Your Slide
  • Switch back to the PowerPoint slide.
  • Click Insert, Picture, From file and
    choose the graphic from your folder.
  • Be sure to write down the reference to the site
    so you can include the credit at the end of your
    presentation.

Link to the Internet
  • Go to the site you want to link to on the
    Internet.
  • Select the URL and click Edit then Copy to
    copy the URL to the clipboard
  • Go back to your PowerPoint slide
  • Select the text you want to link to the Internet
    site
  • Click the Insert Hyperlink button on the
    standard toolbar
  • Hold down the Ctrl key and type v to paste
    the URL on the type file or web page line
  • Click OK
  • Run the slide show to test the link

Slide Sorter
  • Click the View menu and choose Slide Sorter
    View.
  • You will see a thumbnail of each slide in your
    presentation.
  • You can move slides by dragging them to a
    different location.

Slide Transitions
  • In slide sorter view, choose Edit, Select
    all.
  • Click down arrow beside slide transition
    effects and choose a transition.
  • Select the first slide.

Save Your Presentation
  • Click the Save button on the standard toolbar
    to save your presentation in its folder.

Make Your Presentation
  • Click the View menu and choose Slide Show. Or
    click the Slide Show button in the lower left
    corner of your screen.
  • Click the left mouse button or touch the
    SmartBoard to advance to the next slide.
  • Click the right mouse button to move to another
    slide in your presentation.
  • Press the escape key to go back to Slide View
    before the end of your presentation.

  • Always test your presentation on the equipment
    you will use.
  • Projector and SmartBoard
  • Television Monitor and Converter
  • Computer Screen

Print Your Presentation
  • Save your presentation first.
  • Click the File menu and choose Print.
  • Choose option (slides, handouts, outline, etc.)
    under Print What?
  • Choose black white or color option.
  • Click Print
