Gethsemane and said to the disciples, sit here
while I go and pray over there
2and He began to be sorrowful and deeply
distressed. He said to them, My Soul is
exceedingly sorrowful, even to death He went a
little farther and fell on His face, and prayed
3Oh my Father, if it is possible, let this cup
pass from Me nevertheless, not My will, but
Yours be done.
And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly.
Then His sweat became like great drops of blood
falling to the ground
4Then Judas, having received a detachment of
troops and officers, came their with lanterns and
weapons and they arrested Jesus, bound Him,
and led Him away. Then all the disciples
forsook Him and fled.
5He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He
opened not His mouth He was led as a lamb to the
slaughter and as a sheep before its shearers is
silent, so He opened not His mouth. Isaiah 53

16Surely He has bourne our griefs and carried our
sorrows. Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by

astray we have turned, every one, to His own
way and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of
us all. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him
He has put Him to grief He shall see the travail
of His soul, and be satisfied.
