Attendance
  • Bring notes every time you are absent
  • Sign in and out from attendance office
  • We must speak to your parent for you to sign out
  • Miss 40 of class and you are absent
  • Excessive absences
  • Denied credit Saturday School, detention
  • Citation Failure to Attend School
  • No Verification of Enrollment form for drivers
    license

Before School
  • Juniors and Seniors to the foyer
  • Freshmen and Sophomores to the cafeteria
  • Students must remain in these areas until 815
    a.m., unless you have tutorials.

  • Begins Sept. 15, from 750 to 815 a.m.
  • On your schedule sheet
  • You must attend, or face disciplinary and legal
    consequences

Exemptions
  • This is a privilege
  • All absences count
  • Juniors and Seniors one college day per
    semester, but must follow procedures
  • TAKS scores count
  • No ISS, suspensions, or DAEP
  • Appeals for extenuating circumstances cannot
    have more than 6 total absences in all classes

Tardies
  • Be to class before the bell rings
  • 1st and 2nd tardies no consequence
  • 3rd and 4th tardies 2 days d-hall for each
  • 5th tardy 4 days d-hall/4 hours Sat School
  • 6th tardy 1 day ISS
  • 7th tardy 3 days ISS
  • 8th tardy administrator discretion
  • Starts over every six weeks

Pep Rallies
  • Go to 1st period from 820 to 825
  • Pep Rally is from 830 to 855
  • Return to 1st period after pep rally
  • If you do not check in at 1st period, you will be
    counted tardy when you attend 1st period after
    pep rally

Truancy
  • 3 days ISS
  • Possible citation failure to attend
  • Teachers can provide zeros for assignments due
    and completed that day

Dress Code
  • No abbreviated clothing that shows stomach, back,
    chest, or sides
  • No transparent clothing i.e., fishnet
  • Shoulder straps on female apparel must be at
    least 2.5 inches wide for one garment
  • Shorts and skirts must be fingertip length,
    including splits in shorts and skirts

Dress Code
  • Males must wear shirts with sleeves
  • No holes in clothing. If patched, the cloth
    patch must be permanently attached to clothing in
    a neat manner
  • Unhemmed clothing cannot exceed 0.25 inches below
    the intact fabric
  • No head coverings i.e., hats, sweatbands

  • Clothing designs must be appropriate for school
    nothing depicting or implying tobacco, alcohol,
    narcotics, gangs, etc.
  • Shoes must be worn at all times no house
    shoes/slippers
  • No underclothing should be visible at any time,
    including no sagging pants

  • Hair must be clean and neat
  • Only natural hair colors allowed
  • Male hair must be off of the back collar, above
    the earlobes, and above the eyes
  • Students must be clean shaven at all times,
    including sideburns
  • Male students cannot wear earrings, and female
    students can have 2 earrings per ear

  • No facial/tongue piercings, including spacers of
    any type and teeth decorations (i.e. grills)
  • No tinted glasses
  • No pajamas
  • No exposed tattoos

Dress Code Consequences
  • Warnings, Detentions, ISS
  • Cumulative all year long.
  • Some dress code issues must be corrected before
    returning to class. A student will not be
    allowed to leave campus to correct an issue. If
    the issue cannot be corrected, the student will
    spend the day in ISS.

ISS and Suspension
  • If you are in ISS, you cannot compete in
    extracurricular activities until your time is
    completed.
  • If you are suspended, you cannot compete,
    participate or attend extracurricular activities
    until your time is completed.

  • No knives, firearms, or ammunition
  • No prescription medication without knowledge of
    nurses
  • Fighting/assault suspension, ISS, citation
  • Tobacco ISS, citation
  • Personal displays of affection - keep hands and
    feet to yourself
  • No horseplay

Internet Policy
  • Pages 39-41 in the student handbook
  • Use proper etiquette while utilizing the internet
  • No e-mail or game usage
  • Improper use will result in loss of computer
    privileges and possible ISS and/or Alternative
    School

Eating on Campus
  • Students may only drink water in the halls
  • No other food/drink in the halls
  • Cafeteria food and drink must stay in the
    cafeteria area
  • Consequences d-hall, Sat. School, ISS
  • Parents can only bring food for their children

General Issues
  • Cell phones cannot be used before or during
    school, only after 340. They must be turned off
    (not silent) and invisible
  • Students can use IPODs, MP3s, and personal CD
    players before and after school, but not during
    school
  • No skateboards, skates, or scooters on campus

Parking
  • First come, first served basis
  • No loitering in the parking lot before/after
    school
  • Do not park in staff or visitor parking, or
    across the street at the church or ISD parking
    area it may be towed in these areas

  • Turn in all forms to your 2nd period teacher by
    Thursday
  • If you have lost forms, come by the attendance
    office to pick up replacements
