across the Atlantic ocean.

Columbus brought to America horses,sheep,cattle,se
eds and cuttings to grow onions,sugar and other
European crops.

He explored for the West Indies.He got there in
three ships called the Nina , Pinta and the Santa
Maria.He sailed across the Atlantic Ocean.

Found They were found in North
Peru,Mexico,Yucatain Peninsula and highlands
of Chiapas.

Foods Corn was the main source of food.They made
corn dough into flatcakes like the tortillas
people eat today.They also ate fish,berries,nuts
and seeds for food. Transportation Their
transportation were boats.

Dress Their clothes were made of fibers of
plants and fleece of sheep.Men wore cotton
breechcloth wrapped around the middle. They also
wore a sleeveless shirt with dye colors.Women
wore a skirt belted at the waist.They plaited
their hair in long tresses.Both men and women
wore sandals.

Important Contributions to the world They
discovered Astronomy,calendrical systems and
hieroglyphic writing. Architecture The buildings
were adorned with carved friezes and roof combs
in stone and stucco.

Jewelry They wore necklaces,bracelets,earrings,ba
ngles,nose-studs,armlets and rings.They also tied
their hair in a bun and had mirrors to check
themselves after putting on makeup.

Religion Religious ritual was elaborate and
imposing,with frequent festival occasions in
honor of the gods, of the winds,the rain the
cardinal points,the harvest of birth,death and
war.

The Maya adapted to the area by building kingdoms
and was ruled by Nobbles and kings.There society
consisted of many independent states,each with a
rural farming community and large urban sites
built ceremonial churches.
