Why is the message of the hour Daniel 1140-45?
3
Answer
  • Message before close of probation (Dan 121)
  • Rise of antichrist brought to view
  • Increase of Knowledge concerning mystery of
    godliness and mystery of iniquity
  • Repeat of history
  • It is the third angels message
  • Little book that is unsealed (Daniel 124, 1140,
    Rev 104)

4
Answer
  • After these seven thunders uttered their voices,
the injunction comes to John as to Daniel in
regard to the little book "Seal up those things
which the seven thunders uttered." These relate
to future events which will be disclosed in their
order. Daniel shall stand in his lot at the end
of the days. John sees the little book unsealed.
Then Daniel's prophecies have their proper place
in the first, second, and third angels' messages
to be given to the world. The unsealing of the
little book was the message in relation to time.

Answer
  • "We have no time to lose. Troublous times are
before us. The world is stirred with the spirit
of war. Soon the scenes of troublespoken of in
the prophecies will take place. The prophecy in
the eleventh chapter of Daniel has nearly reached
its complete fulfillment. Much of the history
that has taken place in fulfillment of this
prophecy will be repeated. In the thirtieth verse
    apower is spoken of that 'shall be g r i e v e d
    . D a n i e l 1 1 3 0 - 3 6 quoted."Scenes
similar to those describedm in these words will
take place. We see evidence that Satan is fast
obtaining the control of human minds who have not
the fear of God before them. Let all read and
understand the prophecies of this book, for we
are now entering upon the time of trouble spoken
    of Daniel 121-4quoted." Manuscript Releases,

Answer
  • The Third Angel's Message in Verity.--Several
have written to me, inquiring if the message of
justification by faith is the third angel's
message, and I have answered, "It is the third
angel's message in verity."-- Review and Herald,
    April 1, 1890. Ev 190.3

What does Present Truth mean?
8
Answer
  • Christ is the Truth (John 146)
  • Present truth is where Christ is presently (Most
    Holy Place)
  • God is calling not only upon the ministers, but
also upon physicians, nurses, canvassers, Bible
workers, and other consecrated laymen of varied
talent who have a knowledge of present truth, to
consider the needs of the unwarned cities MM
    248.4.
  • Truth, present truth, is what the people need
and if the startling significance of the
movements now in progress in regard to the
religious amendments had been realized by our
brethren in every church if they had discerned
in these movements the plain, direct fulfillment
of prophecy, calling upon them to arouse to the
demands of the crisis, they would not now be in
such stupor and deathlike slumber. 5T 718.2

Why is the Millerite history important for
Seventh Day Adventists to understand?
10
Answer
  • Repeat of history (1 Cor 1011)
  • The special light given to John which was
expressed in the seven thunders was a delineation
of events which would transpire under the first
and second angels' messages. It was not best for
the people to know these things, for their faith
must necessarily be tested. In the order of God
most wonderful and advanced truths would be
proclaimed. The first and second angels' messages
were to be proclaimed, but no further light was
to be revealed before these messages had done
their specific work. This is represented by the
angel standing with one foot on the sea,
proclaiming with a most solemn oath that time
should be no longer. 7BC 971.6
  • Unsealed just before probation closes (Rev 2210)

Why is the year 2001 the beginning of the
outpouring of the latter rain?
12
  • Surrender of independance
  • Attack on armies of Rome
  • Worldwide event
  • Repeat of History (Woes)
  • Angel of revelation 18
  • First outpouring second outpouring third
    outpouring
  • Zechariah 101
  • Message, Experience and empowerment

Answer
  • It is true that in the time of the end, when
God's work in the earth is closing, the earnest
efforts put forth by consecrated believers under
the guidance of the Holy Spirit are to be
accompanied by special tokens of divine favor.
Under the figure of the early and the latter
rain, that falls in Eastern lands at seedtime and
harvest, the Hebrew prophets foretold the
bestowal of spiritual grace in extraordinary
measure upon God's church. The outpouring of the
Spirit in the days of the apostles was the
beginning of the early, or former, rain, and
glorious was the result. To the end of time the
presence of the Spirit is to abide with the true
    church. AA 54.2
  • But near the close of earth's harvest, a
special bestowal of spiritual grace is promised
to prepare the church for the coming of the Son
of man. This outpouring of the Spirit is likened
to the falling of the latter rain and it is for
this added power that Christians are to send
their petitions to the Lord of the harvest "in
the time of the latter rain." In response, "the
Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them
showers of rain." "He will cause to come down . .
. the rain, the former rain, and the latter
    rain," Zechariah 101 Joel 223. AA 55.1

14
  • The great outpouring of the Spirit of God, which
lightens the whole earth with His glory, will not
come until we have an enlightened people, that
know by experience what it means to be laborers
together with God. When we have entire,
wholehearted consecration to the service of
Christ, God will recognize the fact by an
outpouring of His Spirit without measure but
this will not be while the largest portion of the
church are not laborers together with God. God
cannot pour out His Spirit when selfishness and
self-indulgence are so manifest when a spirit
prevails that, if put into words, would express
that answer of Cain,-- "Am I my brother's
    keeper?"--R. H., July 21, 1896. CS 52.1

15
  • We need to study the pouring out of the seventh
vial Rev. 1617-21. The powers of evil will not
yield up the conflict without a struggle. But
Providence has a part to act in the battle of
Armageddon. When the earth is lighted with the
glory of the angel of Revelation eighteen, the
religious elements, good and evil, will awake
from slumber, and the armies of the living God
    will take the field.--7BC 983 (1899). LDE 251.3

16
Answer
  • I was shown that if God's people make no efforts
on their part, but wait for the refreshing to
come upon them and remove their wrongs and
correct their errors if they depend upon that to
cleanse them from filthiness of the flesh and
spirit, and fit them to engage in the loud cry of
the third angel, they will be found wanting.--1T
    619 (1867). LDE 195.1
  • While the work of salvation is closing, trouble
will be coming on the earth, and the nations will
be angry, yet held in check so as not to prevent
the work of the third angel. At that time the
"latter rain," or refreshing from the presence of
the Lord, will come, to give power to the loud
voice of the third angel, and prepare the saints
to stand in the period when the seven last
plagues shall be poured out. Mar 259.1
  • Only those who are living up to the light they
have, will receive greater light. Unless we are
daily advancing in the exemplification of the
active Christian virtues, we shall not recognize
the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in the
latter rain. It may be falling on hearts all
around us, but we shall not discern or receive
    it. flb 334

Why must we focus on studying prophecy?
18
Answer
  • 1 Thess 520
  • 2 Peter 219
  • Pro 2918
  • Continual Search for Greater Light.--Whatever may
be man's intellectual advancement, let him not
for a moment think that there is no need of
thorough and continuous searching of the
Scriptures for greater light. As a people, we are
called individually to be students of prophecy.
We must watch with earnestness that we may
discern any ray of light which God shall present
to us. We are to catch the first gleamings of
truth and through prayerful study, clearer light
may be obtained, which can be brought before
    others

19
Answer
  • As a people, we should be earnest students of
prophecy we should not rest until we become
intelligent in regard to the subject of the
sanctuary, which is brought out in the visions of
Daniel and John. This subject sheds great light
on our present position and work, and gives us
unmistakable proof that God has led us in our
past experience. It explains our disappointment
in 1844, showing us that the sanctuary to be
cleansed was not the earth, as we had supposed,
but that Christ then entered into the most holy
apartment of the heavenly sanctuary, and is there
performing the closing work of His priestly
office, in fulfillment of the words of the angel
to the prophet Daniel, "Unto two thousand and
three hundred days then shall the sanctuary be
    cleansed." Ev 222.3
  • Our faith in reference to the messages of the
first, second, and third angels was correct. The
great waymarks we have passed are immovable.
Although the hosts of hell may try to tear them
from their foundation, and triumph in the thought
that they have succeeded, yet they do not
succeed. These pillars of truth stand firm as the
eternal hills, unmoved by all the efforts of men
combined with those of Satan and his host. We can
learn much, and should be constantly searching
the Scriptures to see if these things are so.
God's people are now to have their eyes fixed on
the heavenly sanctuary, where the final
ministration of our great High Priest in the work
of the judgment is going forward,--where He is
interceding for His people.--Review and Herald,
    Nov. 27, 1883. Ev 223.1

Who are the 144000 and what is their work?
21
Answer
  • Part of End-time Elijah (Malachi 44-5)
  • Revelation 7 and 14 (Description given)
  • Mind of Christ
  • Declare the end from the beginning
  • Victory over the beast (Rev 152)
  • Repairers of the breach (Isaiah 5812)
  • Reform and reproof message against the workings
    of Spiritualism.

Answer
  • These, having been translated from the earth,
from among the living, are counted as "the first
fruits unto God and to the Lamb." Revelation
152, 3 141-5. "These are they which came out
of great tribulation" they have passed through
the time of trouble such as never was since there
was a nation they have endured the anguish of
the time of Jacob's trouble they have stood
without an intercessor through the final
outpouring of God's judgments. But they have been
delivered, for they have "washed their robes, and
made them white in the blood of the Lamb." "In
their mouth was found no guile for they are
without fault" before God. "Therefore are they
before the throne of God, and serve Him day and
night in His temple and He that sitteth on the
throne shall dwell among them." They have seen
the earth wasted with famine and pestilence, the
sun having power to scorch men with great heat,
and they themselves have endured suffering,
hunger, and thirst. But "they shall hunger no
more, neither thirst any more neither shall the
sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb
which is in the midst of the throne shall feed
them, and shall lead them unto living fountains
of waters and God shall wipe away all tears from
their eyes." Revelation 714-17. GC 648.3
  • In all ages the Saviour's chosen have been
educated and disciplined in the school of trial.
They walked in narrow paths on earth they were
purified in the furnace of affliction. For Jesus'
sake they endured opposition, hatred, calumny.
They followed Him through conflicts sore they
    endured self-denial and experienced bitter
disappointments. By their own painful experience
they learned the evil of sin, its power, its
guilt, its woe and they look upon it with
abhorrence. A sense of the infinite sacrifice
made for its cure humbles them in their own sight
and fills their hearts with gratitude and praise
which those who have never fallen cannot
appreciate. They love much because they have been
forgiven much. Having been partakers of Christ's
sufferings, they are fitted to be partakers with
Him of His glory. GC 649.1
