ready methodologically and systematically to be

Judo como Deporte
Judo as a Sport
  • When speaking of sports it is necessary to speak
    of refereeing.
  • The referee has the difficult mission of
  • Apply the rules to impart justice.
  • To evaluate the situations, based on the rules,
and to make the decisions that favor the
technical and philosophical principles of judo.

8
EL Arbitraje en el Judo
Refereeing in Judo
  • The refereeing in judo is particularly difficult,
for the same conditions of judo, in general the
situations that are presented are only understood
    by those that practice judo.

9
EL Arbitraje en el Judo
Refereeing in Judo
  • In the majority of the matches in order to be
able to evaluate situations, the referees should
invoke his knowledge from when he was a judo
players. Therefore, the knowledge of the referee
should be updated with the latest competitive and

El Reglamento
The Rules
  • The rules are a group of procedures adapted to
the technical and competitive characteristics of
    a sport.
  • In judo the rules have a meaning more ample,
    because besides establishing competitive
regulatory elements, gives the referee a series
of judgments that permits evaluate the actions
    produced during a judo match.

12
El Reglamento
The Rules
  • Además las reglas tienen como objetivo poder
establecer criterios uniformes para la evaluación
    de las acciones.
  • The rules have as objective to be able to
    establish uniforms criterias
  • for the evaluation of the actions.

13
El Reglamento
The Rules
  • However in many cases the application of the
rules underlies in the interpretation (many
occasions subjective) of the referee and its
    knowledge.
  • In general it also depends of the states of
dispositions and the attention that he is able to
put in each of their performances.

14
El Árbitro en Judo
The Referee in Judo
  • The referee plays a very important role in the
    development of judo tournaments.
  • Would it be possible to be able to do a
    tournament without referees?
  • The main function of the referee is to direct the
match, evaluating the actions, in such a way that
    the tournament rules are applied.

15
El Árbitro en Judo
The Referee in Judo
  • The referee should apply the rules, and the
applications of the rules should be carried out
with justice and impartiality, but mainly with
    common sense.

  • The athletes trained and get prepared for a long
    time to attend the tournaments.
  • Those of us, that are judokas know the difficulty
and how exhausting is the preparation of an
athlete for a tournament, where not only the
physical wearing of the body is involved, but
also the psychological wearing, and of course the

El Árbitro en Judo
The Referee in Judo
Knowledge
    directo-
  • Nobody possesses total knowledge, and what today
    is, tomorrow is not.
  • This can be demonstrated by the change of the
rules, which at one time was allowed as a
throwing technique today is not allowed and is
    penalized with disqualification. direct

Knowledge

  • The dynamism of judo and the form to direct the
