Lakshmana. Rama and Lakshmana followed their
acharya to the forest to protect the Yajna that
Viswamitra was planning to perform. They rested
during the night near river Sarayu. Viswamitra
    got up early and
  • woke up Rama and Lakshmana by reciting this
    sloka.
  • Srirama is one of the incarnations/avatharas of
Lord Vishnu. He was born to Kousalya. Viswamitra
is instructing Rama to get up and perform his
duties that are Sandhyavandanam and Agnikaryam.
  • This sloka is recited in the temples to wake up
Lord Vishnu every morning. All the students of
Prajna class also recite this every morning. Just
like Rama and Lakshmana followed their acharya,
