  • This is available online

Candidates apply for RPL
  • Complete an application form
  • Attach a CV outlining training assessment
    experience
  • Certified copies of qualifications
  • Are allocated to an assessor

What happens next?
  • RPL assessor contacts candidate by phone
  • Makes an appointment to plan the assessment

Initial appointment
  • Assessor and candidate identify the units for RPL
  • A planning tool is used
  • Specific evidence requirements are discussed

Second appointment
  • Usually 3-4 weeks later
  • Candidate brings all the evidence
  • Assessor clarifies, asks questions and checks
    evidence

If all is OK
  • Assessor can sign off candidate as competent
  • Document the process and result
  • Process paperwork

If not
  • Candidate may have to collect more evidence
  • May choose to complete an assessment task
  • May do gap training

  • Offer alternatives
  • Cant locate evidence - offer assessment only
