• (2 Peter 13-4) His divine power has given us
  everything we need for life and godliness he
  has given us his very great and precious
  promises, so that through them you may
  participate in the divine nature and escape the
  corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

Eliminate the Canaanite Influences!

• (Exodus 2333) Do not let them live in your
  land, or they will cause you to sin against me,
  because the worship of their gods will certainly
  be a snare to you."
• (Exodus 3413,16) Break down their altars, smash
  their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah
  poles. they will invite you and you will eat
  their sacrifices. 16 And when you choose some
  of their daughters as wives for your sons and
  those daughters prostitute themselves to their
  gods, they will lead your sons to do the same.
• (Deuteronomy 72) Make no treaty with them, and
  show them no mercy. 3 Do not intermarry with
  them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or
  take their daughters for your sons

• (1 John 215-16) Do not love the world or
  anything in the world. If anyone loves the world,
  the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For
  everything in the world--the cravings of sinful
  man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of
  what he has and does--comes not from the Father
  but from the world.
