• An isthmus is a narrow neck of land connecting

• A delta is the land mass built up by sediments
  deposited as a river empties into a large body of
  water.

Estuary

• An estuary is the wide mouth of a river where it
  empties into the sea.

Continental Shelf

• The continental shelf is the land that slopes out
  into the ocean at the edge of the continents.
• In some cases the continental shelf is very wide
  and in some cases it drops off sharply.

Continental Divide

• The continental divide is the highest point on
  the continent. It divides the way the waters
  flow. Continental divides are mountain ranges.
