  • Objective
  • To utilize the valuable experience from the
    teamwork, stressful deadlines, and cultural
diversity gained during the project, and exploit
that experience when entering the business world.
Upon the completion of the project, the members
of Tech Solutions will use this project as a part

    talking to the group.
  • Having side conversations during a group meeting.
All conversations should be as a group.
  • Causing a conflict that leads to a conflict
resolution during a meeting. Failure to maintain
a professional attitude will result in a strike.

  • All decisions, amendments, updates, and changes
will be made after a majority ruling. In the
case of a tie, the motion will be ruled null and
    void.
  • All discussions during group meetings must
pertain to the project or class lecture. Failure
to abide will result in a strike given to the
    member(s) participating.
  • Any member who fails to abide by the Louisiana
Tech Honor Code (as stated in the Student
Handbook on page 89-93) will be given a
Separation of Employment form and the proper
    authorities will be notified.

accounts twice a day. Once in the morning (prior
to 1200 p.m.) and once in the evening (prior to
    1000 p.m).
  • All members must approve deliverables through the
peer review before delivery, at least one day in
advance. Failure to do so will result in a strike.

unavailable, the member must contact the other
members in the group to find out what, if any,
    e-mail he/she has not received.

SYSTEMS REQUEST
  • Version 2.0

12
SYSTEMS REQUEST
  • Project Name
  • Project Up-Do
  • Project Sponsor
  • Elandas Hair Gallery504 Main St.Grambling, LA
    71245Phone (318) 247-0555

13
SYSTEMS REQUEST
  • Core Business
  • Elandas Hair Gallery is a Grambling-based hair
salon with five hair stylists including the
owner. These five hair stylists perform a variety
    of hair services.
  • Business Needs
  • Currently, there is no system in place at
Elandas Hair Gallery. There is one personal
computer that is used for keeping client
information. Elanda currently schedules all hair
appointments, and tracks all booth rental and
    hair supply fees manually.

14
SYSTEMS REQUEST
  • Business Need
  • Elandas Hair Gallery needs to increase profits
by preventing overlapping of appointments and
decreasing the amount of time customers have to
wait for hair services. Also, Elandas Hair
Gallery needs to increase profits by assessing
the exact amount of fees due for each hair tech
from each of their schedule appointments.
Elandas also needs to gain a competitive
advantage over area businesses through new
business opportunities, such as establishing a
presence on the world wide web.

15
SYSTEMS REQUEST
  • Functionality
  • The primary function of the system will be to
allow Elandas Hair Gallery to keep track of each
hair techs scheduled appointments and estimated
revenues for these appointments on computer
instead of manually keeping track of these items
at each hair booth. This system will also
generate a daily schedule of appointments.
  • The secondary function of the system will be to
provide a fee report for each hair tech. This
report will show a record of each hair techs
booth fee, hair supplies fee, and any previous
balances due for that week. The main purpose of
the fee report is to prevent miscalculated fees
    or forgotten previous balances.
  • The tertiary function of the system is to provide
a revenues report at the end of each month, to
give the owner a vision of where funds can be
    appropriated for salon upgrades.

16
SYSTEMS REQUEST
  • Expected Value
  • Tangible Benefits
  • An increase in profits for hair techs by
    eliminating overlapping appointments. Every week
    approximately 15 overlapped appointments occur.
Given each tech works 5 days a week and each hair
    tech appointment generates approximately 45.00,
an elimination of these overlapped appointments
would increase profits for each hair tech by 675
    per week.

17
SYSTEMS REQUEST
  • Expected Value
  • Tangible Benefits
  • An increase in profits for the salon by allowing
for more accurate collection of fees owed to the
salon by hair techs. Every week each hair tech
must pay 5 of their total revenues to the salon
for booth rental and 3 of their total revenues
to the salon for hair products purchased. This
will increase profits for the salon by 216 per
week. Increase in Profits per Tech per Wk

SYSTEMS REQUEST
  • Expected Value
  • Tangible Benefits
  • An increase in overall business value by allowing
for greater allocation of revenues for upgrades
to salon facilities, equipment, and services.
Each hair tech completes an average of 10
appointments per day, resulting in revenues for
the salon of 450 per week. If 25 of this
amount is allocated for upgrades, then the
organization shall allocate an additional amount
of 112.50 per week. Number of Appointments per

    to comprehend.
  • This system will consist of input from multiple
    users.
  • This system will have a PHP web front-end.
  • This system will be fully functional and
    delivered by February 8, 2007.
