The Smithsonian Institute is located in
Washington DC. There are 17 museums that make up
the whole Smithsonian and 140 affiliate museums.
The Smithsonian also has a National Zoo! It is
the worlds largest museum complex.
Who founded the Smithsonian?

The National Air and Space Museum is part of the
Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC. Here you
can learn all about air and space. There are many
different exhibits to look at and it is a great
place to learn.

Lincoln Memorial
What is the name of the body of water in front of

The building was constructed in the style of a
classical Greek temple with 36 columns meant to
represent the Union at the time of Abraham
Lincoln's death . On the North wall, the 16th
president's second inaugural address on the
South wall the Gettysburg address. Above the
statue the words "In this Temple, as in the
hearts of the people, for whom he saved the
Union, the memory of Abraham Lincoln is enshrined
forever".

Roosevelt Memorial
Located along the famous cherry tree walk on the
Tidal Basin in West Potomac Park, the Roosevelt
Memorial is a landscape of four outdoor rooms
with granite walls, statuary, inscriptions,
waterfalls and thousands of plants, shrubs and
trees representing FDR's four terms in office
from 1933-1945.
