fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your
heart, as to Christ not by way of eye service,
as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing
the will of God from the heart. With good will
render service, as to the Lord, and not to men,
knowing that whatever good thing each one does,
this he will receive back from the Lord, whether
    slave or free.

4
AS AN EMPLOYEE
  • Col. 322-25 Slaves, in all things obey those
who are your masters on earth, not with external
service, as those who merely please men, but with
sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever
you do, do your work heartily, as or the Lord
rather than for men knowing that from the Lord
you will receive the reward of the inheritance.
It is the Lord whom you serve. For he who does
wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong
which he has done, and that without partiality

AS CITIZENS OF THE STATE
  • Rom.131- 4 Let every person be in subjection
to the governing authorities. For there is no
authority except from God, and those which exist
are established by God. Therefore he who resists
authority has opposed the ordinance of God and
they who have opposed will receive condemnation
upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of
fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want
to have no fear of authority? Do what is good,
and you will have praise from the same for it is
a minister of God to you for good. But if you do
what is evil, be afraid for it does not bear the
sword for nothing for it is a minister of God,
an avenger who brings wrath upon the one who
    practices evil.

9
AS CITIZENS OF THE STATE
  • Paul teaches the following regarding Christians
    as citizens of the state
  • Be subject to the governing authorities
  • Reasons
  • They are appointed by God
  • Ministers of God
  • Resisting the governing authorities is liken to
    resisting the ordinance of God
  • Rationale
  • Rulers are not a cause of fear if we live right
    do good

10
AS CITIZENS OF THE STATE
  • Rom. 136-7 For because of this you also pay
taxes, for they are Gods ministers attending
continually to this very thing. Render therefore
to all their due taxes to whom taxes are due,
customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor
    to whom honor.
  • Paul teaches
  • I am to be a useful citizen be gainfully
    employed
  • Eph. 428 Let him who stole steal no longer,
but rather let him labor, working with his hands
what is good, that he may have something to give

you, we commanded you this If any will not work,
neither shall he eat. For we hear that there are
some who walk among you in a disorderly manner,
not working at all, but are busybodies
  • Live meaningful productive lives making the
