AACR2 Amendments 2002

• The major change is that Chapter 12 (Serials) has
  been revised and renamed Continuing Resources.
• Changes implemented to address concept of
  seriality within resources issued over time
  (serials, loose-leaf publications).
• The rules in this chapter will also cover a
  newly-defined category of resources called
  integrating resources.

• Integrating Resource Definition
• A bibliographic resource that is added to or
  changed by means of updates that do not remain
  discrete and are integrated into the whole.
• Examples include Updating loose-leaf
  publications and updating Web sites.

• July 2002 is the expected publication date for
  AACR2 2002 Amendments.

• The Library of Congress has announced that it
  will begin using the new revisions as of December
  1, 2002.
• Revisions to the Library of Congress Rule
  Interpretations (LCRI) related to the AACR2
  amendments will be published in late summer 2002.

Migration Options available for us

• (1) Passport to the new browser-based interface
  (anytime after June 30, 2002).
• (2) Passport to CatME and then wait to migrate
  to the new browser-based interface when all the
  features and functionalities have been added.
