Points of interest PaVEM
  • Goal to let ethnic women take part in society.
  • The commission focused on four main topics-
    Language plus- Work- Social dialogue-
    Participation teams

First participation team
  • At the instance of HRH princess Máxima a National
    Participation Team was set up in 2005
  • By women for women
  • Thirty concerned and successful women from
    different ethnic backgrounds who are socially
    active on different levels in society.

PaFemme Foundation
  • From this National Participation Team the PaFemme
    Foundation was set up in June 2006 and the board
    members were appointed.

Mission PaFemme Foundation
  • Mission To stimulate participation of black,
    migrant and refugee women with special attention
    for financial independency.
  • Our definition of participation is From your
    own strength actively taking part in socially
    economic and/or in social areas.

Core activities PaFemme
  • Continuing the movement of successful, socially
    concerned ethnic women (role models)
  • Give advice to municipals how to set up
    P-teams
  • To make migrant women visible and contribute to a
  • positive image of ethnic women through the
    media
  • Offer programs to advance the expertise of ethnic
    women
  • Connect migrant women with each other for
    dialogue and exchange experiences and knowledge
  • Connect migrant women with different parties
    municipals, employers, governments, etc
  • Execute ad hoc projects fitting within the
    strategic choices of the foundation.

Concrete projects/activities
  • The following projects were executed and/or were
    given means (plan pafemme_at_work) and are being
    implemented- Network meeting December 2005-
    Network match pafemme_at_work March 2006- National
    conference P-teams / Kick-off meeting May 2006-
    Conference expertise advancement P-teams, Nov.
    2006- Network club business club, January
    2007 (digitalised file job seeking women
    forum)- Network match pafemme_at_work, March 2007-
    National conference P-teams, 2007- Diversity
    market, 2007- P-team Academy 17 November 2007
  • Moreover a lot of other projects have been
    defined, for which subsidy requests are
    submitted see the multi annual action plan on
    our site.

P-teams
  • Local participation teams
  • Consist of women, girls and/or men, boys of
    different ethnic groups and different grades of
    education
  • Tasks of a P-team within a municipal could be-

Municipals
  • Stichting PaFemme focuses on the G54-gemeenten,
    but excludes other municipals announcements who
    want to set up a P-team.
  • 18 municipals with a P-team, which areAlkmaar,
    Amersfoort, Amsterdam Noord, Breda, Capelle a/d
    IJssel, Den Haag, Deventer, Doetinchem,
    Groningen, Lelystad, Maastricht, Nijmegen,
    Rotterdam, Schiedam, Tilburg, Utrecht, Venlo and
    Zaanstad
  • 23 municipals have the intention or are already
    in process to set up a P-team. A complete

Set up a P-team?
  • PaFemme supports and gives advice
  • Tool step-by-step plan how to set up a P-team
  • Proposal alderman takes part in P-team
  • Proposal municipal employee, involved in the set
    up of P-team, becomes ambassador at PaFemme
  • Possibility to set up one or more P-teams with
    different (smaller) municipals together (example
    Almelo, Borne, Enschede, Hengelo Zwolle
    regional P-team)
  • National platform P-teams which goal is to
    exchange knowledge and experiences among others.
