2Steps to Year-round Propagation
- Fall is an excellent season to start propagating
perennials in your garden so theyll be hardy and
large for planting out and potting up for next
springs PHGSCs Plant Sale. - Cool months are the easiest time to care for new
plants. There are fewer bug invasions, and rain
usually does the watering. The biggest chore is
to protect the plants from potential frost.

- Drought tolerant and native plants will be more
in demand in the coming years. Propagating what
you have in this category would be fantastic. - Cuttings This is still a good time of year to
clip and root Salvia, Lavender, Dusty Miller,
Candytuft, Plectranthus, Rosemary.

- Divisions As the weather cools down a bit in
September, dig up and divide Daylily, Primrose,
Shasta Daisy, bearded Iris, Agapanthus. Replant
some for your use repot excess for sale at next
springs Plant Sale. - Collect seeds as your plants create them plant
some and share some with other club members.

- Donate decorative or fancy containers to the
club so they can be potted up next spring with
blooming plants for the sale. Bring your
