What is Living Well?
  • Chesapeake Energy Corporations Employee Health
    Promotion Program
  • Available to all Chesapeake Employees in Oklahoma
    City office (multiple versions for field
    employees)
  • Program runs from January 1, 2008 to November 30,
    2008 (third year)

  • Encourages an active and healthy lifestyle
  • Improves overall health and fitness
  • Early detection and prevention of health problems

3 Components of Living Well
  • Participation
  • Performance
  • Exercise

Participation
  • Participants will earn by earning 200
    participation points during the Living Well year.
  • Points are awarded for participating in various
    activities, such as Lunch Learns, Measures for
    Prevention, Sports Recreation Leagues, CHK
    Sponsored Races and Community Events, Smoking
    Cessation, Special Group Fitness Classes, plus
    much more!

Performance Assessment
  • Participants will earn by meeting the
    established performance standards in 5 of 6 areas
  • An independent screening service performs
    assessments
  • Assessment is covered 100 by insurance

Participants meeting 5 of 6 of the qualifying
ranges will earn

Exercise
  • Employees can earn by completing and logging
    either of the following options
  • Option 1 Minutes of Physical Activity
  • Option 2 Pedometer Walking Program

Option 1 Minutes of Physical Activity
  • Record the name of the activity and number of
    minutes in the space provided in the exercise log
  • Record a minimum of 30 minutes/3 times a week of
    physical activity, for 44 weeks out of the 48
    week wellness program year
  • This activity may not include on the job walking
    and/or activities of daily living

What Counts as Exercise?
  • Walking
  • Sports (basketball, softball, golf, tennis,
    racquetball, etc.)
  • Jogging
  • Swimming
  • Biking
  • Weight Lifting

Option 2 Pedometer Walking Program
  • Record the number of steps in the space provided
    in the exercise log and write steps in the
    activity line
  • Record at least 10,000 steps per day for a
    minimum of 5 days a week for 44 weeks out of the
    48 week Living Well year (1/1/08 11/30/08)
  • This includes all steps taken throughout the
    dayat work, home, and structured exercise

  • Physical activity is a key ingredient in an
    individuals quality and quantity of life
  • Living Well participants should choose an option
    that fits his or her lifestyle and will likely be
    the most enjoyable
  • Choose an option that you will be able to stick
    with!
