5
Symptoms of Syphilis
  • There are four different stages of Syphilis
  • The first stage is the Primary Stage
  • The second stage is called the Secondary Stage
  • The third stage is called the Late Stage
  • Finally the last stage is called the Tertiary
    Stage

6
First Stage Primary Stage
  • This stage is normally marked by a single sore,
called a chancre, but there may be multiple
    sores.
  • The time between when you become infected and
your first sore can range from 10 to 90 days
  • The sore is usually firm, round, small and
painless. The sore last about 3-6 weeks and heals
without treatment, however if not treated it can
    progress to the second stage

7
Secondary Stage
  • This stage typically starts out with a rash that
    normally doesnt itch
  • The rash is generally marked by a red or
reddish-brown penny sized sores over any area of
your body, including your palms and soles
  • Other symptoms may include fever, swollen lymph
glands, sore throat, patchy hair loss, headaches,
weight loss, muscle aches and fatigue. The
symptoms will go away but if not treated it will
    progress to yet another stage.

8
Latent Stage
  • In some people a period called latent syphilis
occurs. This stage may follow the secondary
    stage.
  • During the late stage no symptoms occur or are
    present.
  • Signs and symptoms may never return or the
disease may progress to the final and last stage
    called the Tertiary stage.

9
Tertiary Stage
  • This is the final and deadliest stage were no
symptoms occur or are present. Some people say
    its like a silent killer.
  • The disease can damage the internal organs.
Including the brain, nerves, eyes, heart, blood
    vessels, liver, bones and joints.
  • The damage may be serious enough to cause death
    years after the original infection.

10
Conclusion
  • So in conclusion to our research we found one
solution to help and try and prevent this problem
