Summary

• Ted Williams is best know for playing
  baseball. He remains the last man to hit over
  .400 for a complete major league baseball season.
  Williams played for the Boston Red Sox.
  Williams wore uniform 9. His nicknames include
  the Kid, Teddy Ballgame, and the Splendid
  Splinter. He wasnt just a ballplayer during
  World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. His
  1952 and 1953 seasons were interrupted by his
  service as a Marine Corps pilot. He flew over 39
  combat missions in Korea. Ted Williams was a
  great baseball player and a great American hero.

Boston Red Sox.
September 28, 1960 Hit a homerun at his last
at-bat, finishing his career with 521 homers and
2,654 hits.
July 25, 1966 Inducted into the Baseball Hall of
Fame.
July 5, 2002 Williams dies at the age of 83.
