There is definitely a lot to know! The liberty
bell actually rang in 1824, when the declaration
was signed. When it rang, it was telling the
people in the town it was time to read the
Declaration of Independence. When the bell got
cracked, it was actually George Washingtons
birthday, and at that time there were many of
disagreements going around town. Since the people
were so mad they went up and cracked the bell.
There were actually three bells. the other two
were cracked so much they broke in half, and the
real liberty bell was the only one saved.

It was made up of many of things. One thing was
copper, and that was on top of the bell. In the
middle, was tin, and on the bottom, was iron fuse
Also, the little thing inside was made of only
nickel. The bell was made in 1818, and since it
was so big it took over 1 year to make, and over
1 month to ship off to pensylvania. It actually
weighs over 2 tons.
