Jupiter
  • By Morgan, Jaxon, Breanna

2
How Jupiter's Name
  • The Romans knew of seven bright objects in the
sky ,the sun ,the moon and the five brightest
planets. They named after the king of the Roman
    god

3
Position in the solar
  • Jupiter is the fith planet from the sun

4
Rotation and orbit
  • Jupiter spins on its axes. It actually take 9.8
hours for Jupiter to rotate completely on it's
axis Jupiter takes 11.9 Earth years to orbit the
    sun

5
How big is jupiter
  • Jupiter has an equatorial diameter of 141,700 km
compared to Earth's 12,800 km. This means that
Jupiter is 11 times the diameter of the Earth,
and 1,300 times its volume. This is about like
comparing a basketball to a ping pong ball.
  • Compared to the Sun, Jupiter is about 0.001 its
mass, and is about 1/50 its diameter. If the Sun
were a basketball, Jupiter would be about the
    size of a pea.

6
Rings
  • Jupiter has 2 ring around its axes. two rings
    on it s Axis.

7
Moons
  • Jupiter has 63 moons.

8
Gravity
  • If you are 100 pounds you would be 236.4

9
Temperature
  • There Temperature of Jupiter is 220F.

10
How would a human be fare on Jupiter
  • A human would not be able to survive on Jupiter
because the gravity is too great and it is way to
hot to live there. Jupiter is about 90 hydrogen
and 10 helium (by numbers of atoms, 75/25 by
mass) with traces of methane, water, ammonia and
"rock". This is very close to the composition of
the primordial Solar Nebula from which the entire
solar system was formed. Saturn has a similar
composition, but Uranus and Neptune have much
    less hydrogen and helium.
