Silence in the City

• These Benedictine Monks live on the loop in
  downtown Chicago.
• One of their ministries is to provide a place of
  silence in the noisy, bustling city.

Bed Breakfast

• They have a gorgeous BB that they rent.
• You might remember the Benedictine slogan is
  ora et labora or prayer and work.
• This BB is one of the ways they work to earn
  their way.

Living Room BB

• My husband and I went to Chicago last year for a
  fun trip.
• We stayed at the BB and can wholeheartedly
  recommend it!

Why?

• Not just because the kids werent there!

Why?

• The best breakfast around. Brother Brendan is a
  great cook. There is always some type of fresh
  bread or muffin. One morning we had cranberry
  muffins, and the next morning we had cinnamon
  rolls.
• Huge space. The BB has 2 bedrooms w/double beds,
  living room, kitchenette, bathroom, office (w/fax
  phone), etc.
• The monks had their mothers and sisters decorate
  so its really cozy and lovely.
• Great Italian family restaurant down the street.

Notes

• Guess who brought the wrong disk? Thus I didnt
  have my very cute childhood photo featuring my
  mother with a bouffant hairdo, doll cake, and
  matching individual doll cupcakes!
• Instead, thanks to Mary Lee explaining how to do
