    estimated 7.5 billion,
  • But the cost of the accelerated use of current
    supplies of fresh food, coal, oil, and gas and
    the likely loss of future agricultural production
    is still to be added to the economic toll.

THE WINTER STORMS CREATED A TRANSPORTATION CRISIS
  • Chunyun, the national holiday and Spring Festival
    in China, runs from January 18 to March 2 in
    2007.
  • Millions of migrant workers and Chinese citizens
    plan to travel by air, road, and rail during
    Chunyunh and over the Chinese New Year that
    begins on February 7.
  • For many, this is their only holiday period.
