    capital and largest city in South Korea.
  • Almost half of South Korea's population lives in
    the Seoul National Capital Area, and nearly one
    quarter in Seoul itself, making it the country's
    political, cultural, and economic centre

  • As the oldest private university in Korea, Yonsei
    University was first established in 1885.
  • Yonseis main campus is ensconced in a spacious,
    picturesque and natural setting that is located
    minutes away from of the economic, political, and
    cultural centers of Seoul's metropolitan downtown

Program Overview
  • Yonsei University International Summer School
  • YISS offers a diverse range of courses in Korean
    Studies, Politics, Business, History, etc. Top
    quality international and Yonsei faculty we
    invite distinguished visiting professors from all
    over the world.
  • The program includes students from many different
    countries, so you will meet friends with diverse
    backgrounds and cultures. Students can experience
    Korean culture and participate in many different
    activities and events outside the classroom.

  • Dates 2009 TBA (usually runs end of June to
    beginning of August)
  • Classes
  • Students can take up to 3 classes at Yonsei
    during the program.
  • Students can take courses in a multitude of
    disciplines.

  • Some of the courses in this program have been
    pre-approved for credit by the Faculty of Arts.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to speak
    with their faculty advisor about credit transfer.
  • Credit transfer is done by the Faculty and is not
    guaranteed.

Accommodation
  • The International Summer School students stay at
    the International House. The International House
    accommodates 240 students in double rooms and is
    conveniently located within 3 minutes distance
    from the New Millennium Hall. With separate wings
    for men and women, every room is equipped with
    LAN connections for internet access. The
    dormitory has toasters, microwaves, and
    refrigerators for students to share, a study
    room, a recreation room, a lecture room, a
    computer room, and laundry facilities (washing
    machines, dryers and irons). Laundry facilities
    are free of charge. The dormitory has a central
    heating system while an air conditioner is
    equipped in each room. Please be advised that
    there is NO MEAL PLAN at the dorm.

  • KRW 750,000 (800 CND) - Accommodation
  • KRW 100, 000 (94.00 CND) - Application fee
  • KRW 63,000 (60.00 CND) - Student fee

Application Process
  • Attend one of the mandatory group advising
    sessions for Summer Abroad in France.
  • Submit completed application to Education Abroad
    Program by March 16th, 2008.
  • If you are selected to participate in program you
    will then be required to complete the application
    to Yonsei University.

Application Requirements
  • GPA requirements
  • 2.7 current
  • 2.5 cumulative
  • If you are in the Faculty of Science you must
    have completed 15 of course work at the time of
    application.
